FRIENDS OF SRDE
The Friends of SRDE who are ex-SRDE employees are collaborating with the Red House Museum and Gardens at Christchurch, Dorset, to create a Local History Project to commemorate the work on Military Communications carried out by SRDE over the period from 1948 -1980 before it was moved to join forces with RRE at Malvern in 1980.

The SRDE archive which includes a large number of negatives c.1953-1977; an almost complete set of user handbooks (provisional/final); SRDE inventions 1930s and 1940s, early experimental diaries, and a large number of press cuttings is held at the Royal Signals Museum at Blandford Camp, Blandford Forum, Dorset, DT11 8RH Tel: 01258 482160;

There is archive material at the Red House Museum and Gardens, Quay Road, Christchurch, Dorset, BH23 1BU, which includes a collection of photographs of equipment and staff employed at SRDE and a dossier of personal and technical recollections.
